AGENCY WORK
Nobody ever drowned in their own sweat
Unless it's 3am on a Saturday night at the agency, eating lukewarm pizza, sitting on the floor in the "war room" with a pile of brutally murdered ideas, and tossing a Hacky Sack with your writer as if it's the only joy you know left in this world...this might be cause for drowning, or at least a new perspective.
Agencies get a bad rep, but I'm particularly fond of nights like these. These nights gave me my work ethic. They taught me to work smarter, less harder and to push past mediocre. They taught me to treat everyone with respect, especially the janitor, and when to die on a sword for your ideas. They taught me to be everywhere—across projects, managing teams, mentoring creatives and know where they keep the leftover meeting food. They taught me every medium, from web to product to broadcast to social to every classification of a "brand activation."
These were the years that shaped me, so here's a few of those ideas that made it past the chopping block:
Hello
I'm Jordan, a Creative Director based in San Francisco, bridging the worlds between advertising a product and working to create it. Originally from Chicago, I spent the first decade of my career working for ad agencies, making an impact on brands like Porsche, The North Face and Trunk Club. With a strong foundation in design, strategy and a conceptual mindset, I'm known to push the possibilities on every project I touch.
Four years ago, my project was packing up myself, my wife, and 90lb lab into a MINI Cooper to move 2,000 miles west--a strategy of scale that I don't think I'll ever beat. We headed to San Francisco to make more than ads--to make an impact, build a product and foster teams within the tech scene.
From working on the launch team at Apple to Creative Director at a leading clinical AI start-up, Enlitic, I've spent the last few years truly embracing the product. At Enlitic, I was one of the initial lead hires, building our team and office (literally), while we worked to bridge human and artificial intelligence to advance medical diagnostics, improving patient outcomes around the world. I worked with world-class radiologists, data scientists and engineers to collect and analyze the world’s most comprehensive clinical data, pioneering medical software that enables doctors to diagnose sooner with renowned accuracy.
Today, I'm looking for my next adventure.
